Ethiopian Red Cross at 2am and later

We are here.  Quite an adventure going through the airport in Addis.  Our bags arrived safely.  Cindy had oxygen saturation probes and the airport security people didn't want those coming in.  We also had difficulty because the Ethiopian Red Cross (ERC) doesn't have an address.  We were almost turned back there.  Luckily, Cindy had a phone number she could access on her phone.  Not that anyone answered but just having the number seemed to suffice.

Then no one was there as expected to meet and greet and drive us.  A very nice woman helped us get a taxi and for 400 birr (about 22 dollars), we were taken here.  The taxi was quite old and needed a push to get started.  Our bags were piled on top and in the trunk.  The ones on top were tied on with rope.  Our driver was also quite nice.  The roads were a bit bumpy and the ERC gates were locked.  The driver was able to find someone inside and we got rooms up on the third floor.  Settled in.  No one has come yet today to find us, but we did get some breakfast and a mid morning snack and walked around a bit.  Wireless works, we saw the "gym" and learned when meals are.  I suspect many of our meals will be here in the morning and evenings.

My room 309.: two small beds

We had some wine left over from the plane ride!  That helped.

Our building--a mosaic
Outside is a riot of people walking around, cars, trucks and buses and animals.  Our white faces seemed to make everyone a bit happier.
