Sunday in Addis

A view out the front door to a stone stairwell memorial

Didn't sleep too well again.  There was religious singing starting at 3am from a mosque nearby.  It was made up for by another hot shower and a glorious breakfast buffet and great coffee.  Then Selman was back to take us to the Ethnological Museum on the Addis Ababa University campus.  The campus is lovely and the museum was spectacular.

there were many paintings like this that showed Ethiopian life.
I loved them all.

One of the wonderful early religious paintings from the art gallery on the third floor.
Don't worry, I didn't use my flash!
The 2nd floor showed Ethiopians through their life cycle
starting with pregnancy and birth.  I photographed this entire story.
We have a lot to learn from them.
So many photos there and I can't put them all here.

After that, we stopped at the JFK Memorial Library and Selman took us back over to Lucy's Restaurant at the National Museum where we joined other Americans and Europeans and had a very nice lunch.

Then back to the hotel for coffee. Zewadu picked us up at 4 and we headed back to the Red Cross.  Luckily we brought back Cindy's leftover pizza because there is no water tonight and no dinner.  Oh well.  Can't have everything.

At the hotel, I also asked about the sought after converter.  They showed us what they loan out (power king).  I think I can find these at an electric shop.  The search goes on!!
